Everyone’s a Winner

Filed under: Uncategorized — chapterhouse @ 5:28 am

Last night we went to see a play competition put on by TeCo Theatrical Productions. There were six one-act plays by local playwrights.

TeCo is an arts education program whose objectives are to “provide cultural and artistic opportunities for children and families who live in at-risk communities [and to] provide instruction in theater, acting, dance and other art forms …”

Everyone was asked to vote for their favorite of the six plays, winner to be announced after the last performance next week.

Of course there are no losers here, because it’s a win-win for everybody.

Thanks to James (a rising star who makes my latte for me in the meantime) for inviting us.

  1. Shucks. I wanted to vote for No. 4. Or maybe No. 2. Wait, which one had the dinglepuss in it? Yeah, that one….

  3. Well, hello. Wish I could play, I mean go to a play. I’ll have to check the Chronicle. You Dallas folks have all the best entertainment-did I mention I grew up there?

  5. Hoss, the dinglepuss was in the last one – and oh, was she ever.

Hey Glenda I’d take Austin any day. We’re looking forward to the move to the Raleigh NC area; I hear hear the atmosphere is similar.

M.G., there’s so much talent in these kinds of things! One of the playwrights was also a very fine actor. I kept wondering how my own WIP would look as a play.

  6. P.S. If you gals have never checked out Hoss’ b**g, do yourselves a favor!! You’ll be hooked. The best original writing in the b**gosphere. (just don’t say b-l-o-g)

  7. Why can’t I say b-l-o-g? Why why why? ;D

That play thing sounds neat. I wish there was stuff here to do for the kids. But looks like we will be moving to the houston area- soon. My hubby is already there (or at least he just got there); his parents moved their hotshot service to texas. We are still in MT. I’ll bet there are loads of stuff to do there!
