I Can’t Keep My National Disasters Straight

Filed under: Uncategorized — chapterhouse @ 8:17 am

I don’t know about you, but I’m exhausted from watching the first four hours of 24. This season looks like the best yet. There’s a dumb-ass President in office while the terrorists are still running amok… no, wait — that’s real life.

We had to tape the first two hours on Sunday night because it ran opposite West Wing and Desperate Housewives. Then we watched them yesterday prior to the next two hours which aired last night.

In the middle of the third hour, Tomcat said, “Well, there must be something even worse coming up because the whole 24 hours can’t just be this airport thing.”

I said, “Yes, it’s the nuclear reactor accident in California, remember from the previews? It’s on the San Andreas faultline.”

And he said, “No, darling, that’s West Wing.”

Oh. Okay.

Nuclear meltdown on the San Andreas = West Wing.

Nerve gas might be released in L.A. = 24.

Got it.

Meanwhile, Desperate Housewife Gabrielle’s husband has violated his parole, and Tom and Lynette may be headed for divorce.

And the dumb-ass President is still in office.

  1. Since I don’t watch any of those shows (in fact, we watch harly any TV at all) I can’t comment. So why am I commenting? Just to say “Hi,” I guess. Hi!

  3. I’m looking forward to this season’s 24. They certainly have cleaned house already though, haven’t they?

  4. Yikes!!! Since I don’t watch DH, I kind of saw that “Gabrielle’s husband” thing and … wow, that startled me. Heh.

  5. I have never ever watched an episode of 24 and have no idea what it is about or why it is called 24. I just don’t get it. I don’t get “the sheild” either. I haven’t watched west wing in years, although I used to love it. I am lucky to remember to watch gilmore girls on tuesdays and stargate sg1/atlantis and battlestar gallactica on fridays! Who can memorize prime time lineups anyway?

Some things never change. At least not until 2008.

  7. I’m hooked on House, M.D. right now. I don’t watch many persistently but that one got me.

I’ve wanted to see 24 because it looks so good. And Lost episodes used to grab me but I keep losing time (know the feeling?) and forget to set up the DVR to record them.

This post might encourage me to watch 24 though just to see it once. đŸ™‚

West Wing is good but another I have no idea when it comes on.

Great to see you and read your blog! I’ll be visiting again – appreciate the invitation via my blog comments.
